Mode d’emploi

The gentle brush that every cat needs

FAQ

How effective is Bailey cat brush in removing loose fur?

If your cat has heavy shedding or is a breed known for having tough undercoats, the bailey cat brush is soft and flexible, safe and resilient, and works exceptionally well at going deep down to massage and remove all that extra fur. The bristles are perfectly spaced to be very effective at capturing all that loose fur. It’s a cat brush that is made for long and short hair because each bristle has a unique shape that makes it a hard cat brush at the base and a soft cat brush at the tips. Together this one feature makes it perfect for gentle brushing and very effective with aggressive brushing sessions too.

Is the Bailey Cat Brush washable?

If your grooming session or washing session with your pup or cat was an especially dirty one you’re in luck! The Bailey brush cat brush is designed to be sanitized and completely washable. Its soft rubber pins love the water and the entire brush is completely waterproof. This means it’s dishwasher safe and can be popped in the washing machine or sink or even a bathtub. After washing it and cleaning it, it’ll still be that same premium cat brush made for comfort. As far as any cat grooming brush goes, it’s a must-have for all furry pets in your entire pet loving home.

Does the Bailey Cat Brush prioritize safety and skin friendliness?

You bet! It’s high-quality solid silicone material means there’ll be no scratching to give you and your furry feline the best cat grooming brush experience ever. Its comfortable round tips are durable, and glide along their bodies making it incredibly skin friendly – it’s just one reason why it’s loved by thousands of cat lovers the world over and comes highly recommended. In fact it’s the most skin friendly cat brush ever made, for you and your cat. And best of all, its ergonomic design puts all its features in one simple compact cat brush form with comfort for you and your cats as a top priority.

Is it advisable to use a human hair brush on cats?

A human brush isn’t designed for cat hair so you’ll not be grooming your cat properly in the long run. We may think that all hair is the same but it isn’t. Cat hair is lighter and softer in texture. It has many properties that make it very unique which is why it requires a specially designed cat grooming brush for it's properties. When you have an easy-to-use cat brush it is specifically made to really get the fur out safely. After daily use with a good quality brush the results will be healthier fur, no hairballs, less mats or no mats at all and easier hair collecting for everyday use.

Can excess fur be removed from ultra short-haired cats with the Bailey Cat Brush?

The Bailey cat brush is made for short hair and long hair cats, and yes that even means the ultra short-haired breeds. The shape of the bristles and their unique spacing are designed to capture loose fur and excess fur in all hair lengths. Groomers use the Bailey Brush for fur removal on all breeds as it’s durable and strong and is an essential fur removing tool. It’s a unique grooming cat brush for its versatility – every cat and pet can benefit from having a Bailey Brush as part of its everyday grooming routine.

Will my cat like how it feels? What if they don't?

Depending on the age and temperament of your cat and what they're used to already, most cat's love it right away – but sometimes a picky cat may need some easing in. Because there's lots of benefits for using a comfortable and allergy-friendly silicone brush like the Bailey Brush, stick with it!
Picky cats usually take a few weeks before they come around to the sensation and ultimately love it. There's no gentler brush out there, so to help, if your cat loathes being brushed, check out the blog for some great tips!

My Bailey Brush isn’t collecting fur as expected—what should I do?

Try these simple solutions to maximize its effectiveness:

  1. Wash the brush before first use – Over time, the silicone can build up a slight static charge that may repel fur instead of attracting it. Washing it with mild soap and warm water helps reset the charge and improves fur collection. Let it air dry completely before use.
  2. Use long, gentle strokes – If you have a cat with very fine or short hair, brushing with longer strokes allows the brush to accumulate fur gradually. Try a slower, more deliberate motion for better results.
  3. Ensure fur isn't overly clean or conditioned – If your cat was recently bathed or groomed, fur might be too soft and slippery for optimal collection. Regular brushing helps create the right texture for the brush to grab onto loose hair.
  4. Try brushing against the grain – Brushing in the opposite direction of fur growth can sometimes help lift and remove more shed hair, especially on thicker coats.
  5. Increase brushing frequency – Daily use can improve effectiveness by preventing excess buildup of loose fur, making it easier for the brush to collect hair consistently.

The Bailey Brush is designed to work on all fur types, from short to long-haired breeds. If you need more help, feel free to reach out to our team! 🐾

The Bailey Brush Cat Brush

Big improvement

The Bailey Brush is so much better than the wire brush I’d been using! My cat’s never going to like being brushed because she is so sensitive on her lower half, but I can get a lot further with the Bailey brush than I’ve ever been able to with any other brush.

Cat approved!

Bailey Brush is a wonderful company to deal with and their product is just as advertised on their website. My Charlie likes being brushed with the long flexible silicone tips and as he has sensitive skin it is important to have a brush that is not harsh. It is A+++ review from me.

WOW! JUST WOW!

This brush is magical, I've been struggling with my kitty's undercoat and sevear shedding (British Short Hair).

My house was constantly victim to clumps of her hair absolutely everywhere. I heard about the Bailey Brush online and thought I'd give it a go.

After two minutes of use I had enough hair off I could have made a new cat out of it.

Not only has this brush removed excess hair and thinned out her undercoat she looks like a brand new kitty and feels nice too and best of all not constantly leaving her hair all over the house and all over me.

110% Recommend this Brush for thicker undercoats my Luna is always happy to have her brush time with her Bailey Brush.

Waste of money! I have 3 indoor cats, a long haired cat, medium hair and short haired. I start by brushing my cats from the base of their neck down to their tail. By the time the brush gets to their tail there is very little hair in the brush, but lots of hair at the base of their tail and hair flying all around. Definitely a design flaw or whatever the brush is made from is all wrong!
I threw it out.

We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have a great experience with the Bailey Brush. It sounds like there may have been some static buildup, which can affect how fur clings to the brush. We always recommend washing the brush with mild soap and water before the first use to help reset the charge and improve performance.

Additionally, brushing technique makes a big difference—short, gentle strokes help collect fur more effectively. Climate and humidity can also impact static, so giving the brush a quick rinse when needed can help with fur retention.

We truly appreciate your feedback and would love to help troubleshoot if you’re open to it! Please check out our website for tips on proper use or reach out to us directly. We want every cat parent to have a great experience with the Bailey Brush!

Best,
Bailey Cat Co.

Excellent product indeed. Not sure your rating images mean that the one I checked is the correct ...

I have four cats , one of which is a Maine-Coon cross named Tigger. He has always enjoyed being brushed...but, with this Bailey Brush...he, literally,'orders' me not to stop....he rolls over from side, to side....'demanding' more brushing. His brother, named Houdini (dini) is a short hair tuxedo, but his hair is very very thick....the first time using the Bailey Brush, he just kept turning from side to side, then turning around more than once 'insisting' that I keep on brushing. He has never rejected being brushed...but, this time....he was reluctant to allow me to stop.
My other two cats don't mind the brushing either, but Tigger and Dini absolutely love this Bailey Brush....and told me to throw the old brushes away....(or at least I think the loud purring was telling me this)
Thank you for an excellent product. I bought extra for other family members for their cats.
sincerely,
Patricia Marshall
